VITTHALA TEMPLE (HAMPI)
Vitthala Temple (Hampi) is located on the southern bank of the Tungabhadra River in Karnataka state. Being a World Heritage monument, the ruins of the temple are in a moderately good state of preservation. The Vitthala Temple, Karnataka is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple has quite a good reputation in using both, the variety of styles that characterizes the shrines within the temple courtyard and the fineness and daintiness of the carvings that embellish them. The unimaginable and artistic sculptural work of the temple is a depiction and an example of Vijayanagar Art at its best. The outer pillars of the Vitthala Temple in Hampi in India are known as the 'Musical Pillars'. The reason is that these pillars start echoing when they are banged. But now the practice of banging is discouraged to avoid further dent.

PUSHKAR LAKE
Pushkar is a sacred town for the Hindus, situated 11 kms. to the North-West of Ajmer city.Evidence points to its having existed during the Fourth century B.C. Lake in the inhospitable surroundings of a desert is no less than a miracle. Pushkar boasts temples, though few are as ancient as you might expect at such an important pilgrimage site, since many were destroyed by Aurangzeb, a Mogul ruler and subsequently rebuilt. The most famous is the Brahma Temple, said to be the only temple in the world dedicated to this deity. It stands on a high plinth with the Marble steps leading up to it. Many Ghats run down to the Holy Lake where pilgrims are constantly bathing in the holy waters. Joining people at the GHATS (Stairs on the banks of a river or lake) has to be with some respect for their culture and privacy. And for this reason, removing shoes before approaching the ghats, no smoking and restraining from photographing bathing people is well avoidedThe famed waters of the Pushkar lake wash away the sins of a lifetime. The mystical water is also believed to cure skin diseases, making Pushkar the Lourdes of the East.

VARANASI GHATS
Varanasi is older than traditions. Varanasi presents a unique combination of physical, metaphysical and supernatural elements. According to the Hindu mythology, Varanasi liberates soul from human body to the ultimate. It is the Ganga Ghats of Varanasi that complement the concept of divinity. Ghats of Ganga are perhaps the holiest spots of Varanasi. The Ganga Ghats at Varanasi are full of pilgrims who flock to the place to take a dip in the holy Ganges, which is believed to absolve one from all sins. There are number of temples on the bank of the Ganga River in Varanasi. It is believed that people are cleansed physically, mentally and spiritually at Ganga Ghats. It is at the Ganga Ghats where we see life and death together. For thousands of years people have been thronging these Ghats to offer their morning prayers to the rising sun. There are more than 100 ghats along side Ganga in Varanasi. Some of the prominent and popular Ghats at Varanasi are the Dasaswamedh Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, Harischandra Ghat, Kabir Ghat and Assi Ghat.
